Increasing energy awareness and improving energy efficiency in our schools

The School Energy Efficiency (SEE) Program, a third-party energy efficiency program sponsored by Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) and administered by Resource Solutions Group, offers public K-12 school districts a variety of services and incentives designed to improve the energy performance of school facilities.

The program's three key goals are:

  • Educating staff
  • Improving school facilities
  • Saving energy

Professional consultants provide technical information, financial analysis and assistance to decision-makers to determine the best measures to implement in their facilities. Through a systematic project evaluation process, the SEE team identifies cost effective energy efficiency opportunties that provide the greatest benefit and meet the school’s operational needs.

Incentives

All engineering and technical services provided by the School Energy Efficiency Program are provided at no out-of-pocket cost to participating customers. Rebates offered are equivalent to rates currently offered by PG&E’s core energy efficiency programs for the same measures. Bonus cash rebates are available for early program commitment and early project completion.

A catalog of incentives and equipment specifications is available here: Master Rebate Catalog.

The SEE Program is available to qualifying public K-12 school districts that receive gas and/ or electric from PG&E. Participation is on a first-come, first-served basis only while funding lasts. The SEE Program runs from January 1, 2010 to December 31, 2012 and may be modified or terminated without notice.

Program Services

The SEE Program provides project evaluation assistance, on-site energy audits, cash rebates, bonuses and a variety of technical services to assist customers with project development and implementation. Customers who participate in the program and commit to installing the recommended upgrades can take advantage of a variety of installation support services including:
